Hi everyone! My name is Susan Weinroth, and here's the scoop on me... :)
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I was born in south Florida, and have made a little circle around the US before just recently relocating back to north Florida with my family last summer. I've spent time in central Florida, and also in Philadelphia, PA and Minnesota. I thought I would would hate the cold and snow, but quickly found out that I don't! I love the change of seasons that northern living brings.
I went to school and got a degree in accounting. Which I NEVER used. I threw all of my accounting textbooks in a dumpster a year after college (after deciding that accounting was NOT for me), and it was by far one of the most liberating things I've ever done. I seriously never looked back.
While living in Philly, I worked as an executive assistant on the 41st floor of an office building downtown. I also lived downtown in a fabulous pre-war apt building. I could see my apt from the windows in my office. My hubby, Eric, was in grad school at the time (and VERY busy), so I started spending a lot of my free time scrapbooking, and really developed my current scrap and craft style then. I truly haven't stopped crafting since.
Our son, Evan, was born in July of 2007, and is currently 18 months old. When I'm not crafting, I am most likely chasing after Evan, and usually Toby (our toy poodle), too. Our little family of 3 plus a poodle currently live in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL - a sunny little community right along the Atlantic Ocean.
Share one of your earliest and one of your more recent layouts. How do you think your scrapbooking has evolved over the years and what brought about those changes?
These are two of my favorite pages ever. The oldie-goldie - What Makes Me Smile - was done in 2005 with vintage American Crafts goodies, and I still love it.
The newer page - Lomo Love - was done just a couple of weeks ago with the new American Crafts Teen line (which I LOVE!).
My style is totally colorful, and clean, and fun. Or so I think. ;) It hasn't changed much, I like to think that it's just been refined, and continues to evolve with both trends among the industry and my own life.
Do you have a nickname? If so, how did you get it?
Nope. And I HATE to be called Sue. HATE. :)
What is your scrap space at work/home like?
My family is currently in a temporary rental house (after the relocation) and were in the process of buying a home. So my "office" is also the guest room. It's not exciting, but it is functional.
What is your favorite subject to scrap, and why?
I love love LOVE scrapbooking my son. I love putting together pages about the little things that he does, or loves, right now - so that they aren't forgotten.
Thanks so much for letting us get to know you better Susan!
