Hope you all had a great weekend and a Happy Belated Memorial Day to our US friends! We're back in action here on the AC Studio Blog and have a fun week ahead.
We've got a full week of Design Team Spotlights to share with you. I know I've enjoyed getting to know this team better and think you will too!
First up is Design Team member Sarah Champion, who is just a teensy bit familiar with AC... she's been working for them for nine years!
Name: Sarah Champion
Hometown: Lived half my life in Edmonton, AB, Canada and half in Orem, UT
Occupation: Graphic Design Student, Intern
If I could live anywhere... I would live in London for a little
while. I've always wanted to so if the opportunity arose, I would
definitely take it. That or I would move back to New York City since
it's pretty much the best city in the world.
My favorite concert was... probably Mika in Salt Lake City a few
years back. We waited outside in the cold for about 2 hours wondering
why they weren't letting us in. Come to find out that the band's
instruments were stuck in Wyoming but instead of canceling, Mika and
peeps decided to borrow instruments and put on an impromptu show. It
was incredible! The screaming was so loud I think Mika couldn't believe
it. It was worth waiting for. And I think they gave everyone like 10
bucks back on our way out for having to wait. It was crazy.
My home... is tentative. I keep dreaming of a place of my own in another city far away. For now, it's in Utah with family.
On
a Friday night, I love to... go to movies. I really, really love movies.
The whole experience of going to movies is one of my most favorite
things to do. And if it's with my besties and we can talk through the
movie and mock it--even better.
I find inspiration from... anything and everything. Being a design
student, I am always on the look out for things that inspire me. I'm
lucky that I'm interested in so many different things because I can
find inspiration in random places.
What I love most about American Crafts is... it's my family!!
Literally and figuratively. But I worked at American Crafts for almost
9 years so I will always have a place in my heart for AC. And that's an
understatement. I love seeing the new products come out and see what
the design team has come up with. It's so exciting!! They're so
talented.
Sarah has a great eye for design put together this adorable layout to share...
