The lighting in the photo and phrases from the Dear Lizzy rub ons inspired the sun-themed title for my layout. For the journaling, I stitched the Dear Lizzy Mixtape onto the layout and wrote right on the tape.”

“When I found this chipboard house in my stash the phrase 'A house is built of bricks and stone, a home is made of love alone' immediately came to mind and I knew the Love line would be perfect for the theme. I used a variety of photos of my family at home over the last 15 years. For the journaling I used the Bits tags and hung them from one of the binder rings."
Here's a little bit more about this talented lady:
When did you get started scrapbooking?
Back in 1989, shortly after I was married, I put my honeymoon photos and memorabilia into a magnetic album that was covered with lacey fabric, complete with a matching frame. I used markers and copy paper to journal and embellish the pages. My first real introduction to scrapbooking was in 1997 when I attended a Creative Memories party. I’ve been hooked ever since.
What would you say your scrapbooking “style” is?
I think my pages are fairly structured, with a few embellishments scattered around for a touch of whimsy.
What is your favorite technique?
I love sewing on my pages and would say 90% of my layouts include sewing or hand stitching. I also love using my 1930’s Underwood typewriter for my journaling.
When do you find time to scrap?
I’m a late night and weekend scrapper. I usually work on things in stages. I’ll pick photos and product and start planning the pages during the week, and then put them together on the weekend. I like to have a couple pages planned and waiting for me so when I do have time to scrap I can start creating right away.
On average, how long does it take you to complete a project?
I’m a slow scrapbooker. I can easily spend 30 minutes or more picking out product. After I have selected my supplies and I’ve decided on a design it usually takes me two hours to put it together, depending on how much layering it includes.
What is your favorite thing about American Crafts?
I love Thickers and like to mix different fonts and colors for more interest in my titles. I also love the Mixtape. It is functional and also decorative. I could never have too many of either one of these products in my stash!
Such a great variety of projects using the Love line! Find out more about Diane by reading her blog: http://dianepayne.typepad.com/
