"I took these photos of my son on one random day before we headed off to his basketball practice. I am constantly taking random photos of him and he absolutely loves it! He poses, smiles like crazy, and even has random requests for the kind of photos he wants me to take of him. He will actually set up photos of himself because he likes the way that they turn out! When I look at his photos his personality is just shining through each and every one of them! He's such an outgoing, friendly, and happy boy and I think these photos express just that."

"Last summer my family and I went out to my friends lake house as often as possible. We would go out on their boat nearly every day! Immediately when I got my hands on the Campy Trails collection and saw the cute fish papers and embellishments I knew that I wanted to scrap photos of my son and my friend's daughter out on the lake last summer. They swam every day and reminded me of little fish. They were in the water for hours at a time and never seemed to get tired!"

"These are actually close-up photos of my son sitting on a statue at the zoo last Summer. I don't remember what he was looking at but the expression on his face looks like curiosity, awe, and excitement all at the same time! I love watching him grow up and it seems like he learns or discovers something new every day. His mind is always going a mile a minute and it's so fun to take him to new and exciting places so that he can soak up lots of new knowledge and experiences! The Campy Trails embellishments and paper collection is just perfect to use while scrapping photos of my son. I love the rich earth tones and patterns!"

He was so proud, he didn't put the trophy down for pretty much the whole day. I have been creating decorations for our house and this frame will match my home decor perfectly. Here's a little get-to-know-Jillian better questionnaire:
How did you get started scrapbooking?
I started scrapbooking back in high school, almost ten years ago. I have always loved taking photos and I had photo albums full of them back then. I went over to my friend's house one day and she pulled out her scrapbooks to show me, I was in awe! They were just pages full of photos, magazine clippings, and glitter stickers but to me they were the coolest thing ever. After that day I started going over to her house and we would spend our weekends scrapping together, I was hooked! I have never stopped since.
What would you say your scrapbooking “style” is?
It's so hard for me to define my style! I love clean lines and lots of layers. One of my friends told me that my style was 'trendy' because I love using the latest and greatest scrapping supplies. Shopping for scrapbook supplies is probably my second favorite hobby, with actual scrapbooking itself being my first favorite, of course.
What is your favorite technique?
Just recently I bought some scrapbooking chalks tried them out. Ever since I have been chalking everything! It's my new favorite technique as of now.
When do you find time to scrap?
Normally the only time I get to scrapbook is at night after my son goes to bed. I'm a night owl so I feel most creative at night for the most part. At times I'll try to do some scrapbooking during the day but I never get to do it for long before I get interrupted!
On average, how long does it take you to complete a project?
When I'm creating a layout it usually takes me anywhere from 2 to 4 hours to complete a layout, depending on how detailed it is. Altered items take about the same amount of time. Cards are quicker and generally only take about an hour or so to create.
What is your favorite thing about American Crafts?
I have loved American Crafts from the beginning! I think I have just about every single set of Thickers that they have ever come out with - I can't scrap without my Thickers! I adore their papers and that every paper collection has a wide variety of embellishments to go along with them. I will always love American Crafts and am always looking forward to the wonderful things they will come out with next!
