Today Lilith Eeckels is going to show you in step-by-step photos as well as a neat YouTube video tutorial how to make these beautiful altered/mixed media pages:
HAPPY LETTING GO by Lilith Eeckels
Supplies: Black Memory Marker (6101) – AC Pens, Grass Memory Marker (6108) – AC Pens, Taffy (59522) – Pigment Ink, Black (59500) – Pigment Ink, Rouge 1 (61718) – Chromatix, Heart Song Paper (35631) – Neapolitan, Sydney's Snapshot Paper (35688) – Sketchbook, Black Journal (53337) – Thickers, Printed Chipboard Shapes (77290) – Bits, Draft (59161) – Clear Stamps, Jared (59152) – Stamps
Grab your supplies. I pulled out quite a few as you can see in the picture, but not all were used.
Prime the pages of the art journal with gesso. I used an old credit card to spread it around then leave to dry.
Add ink and blow on it. A straw can come in handy!
Using mists and ink, mask a shape onto the pages. I used a fine circle mask. I also glued some leftovers from a cut out from a previous project.
Brush a fine layer of gesso over the pages to soften the overall look.
Mist some butterflies onto some sheets of paper from an old book and doodle around the edges.
I also added some doodled arrows. I call it guided doodling as I used a the negative of a cut out.
Draw a border around the pages and add some doodling to the sides. Colour them in using Chromatix markers or Memory Markers.
Stamp arrows using the stamps from the Chap collection and the Amy Tangerine Sketchbook collection.
Punch out some butterflies from the patterned papers and doodle around the edges.
Choose a few shapes from the Bits and stick them down. I cut the doodled circle into different pieces.
Stick your all your elements down and add a title. You can also doodle some circles onto the pages.
