We're taking a quick break from Mini Album week for another great Postmarked Wednesday! We've got cards today featuring the new Blue Skies line from two of our awesome new Design Team members. First up is Kim W. with her adorable card...
Supplies: 12x12 cardstock Raspberry (71019) - AC cardstock, 12x12 cardstock White (71081) - AC cardstock, 12x12 cardstock Carrot (71032) - AC cardstock, 12x12 cardstock Coffee (71049) - AC cardstock, 12x12 cardstock Leaf (71052) - AC cardstock, Feelin' alright paper (34730) - Blue Skies, Striped ribbon (93005) - Everyday, Daydream Chestnut (43063) - Thickers, Rockabye Powder (42955) - Thickers , Mini Tropical Brads (85377) - Elements
Kim says: "My brother & sister in law have been visiting with us from the UK for the month. They are due to return home this week & I wanted to give them a little something to say they are special to us & we'll miss them. They are such a cute couple, so when I saw the pear paper I know it would be perfect for my Cute 'pair' card.....(get it :o). The pear cut out was easily put together by lightly drawing a pear shape to match the paper on cardstock, then matting it on green for punch & machine stitching for extra detail. I added a tiny photograph of them that I had taken on one of our outings, for a more personal feel. Cute & quick!"
How cool is that oversized pear? I love the personal touch the photo adds as well - so cool, Kim! And check out this lovely card from Design Team member Danielle...
Supplies: 8.5 x 11 Cardstock Neutrals (71266) - Blue Skies, One
Fine Day Paper (34985) - Blue Skies, Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy Paper
(34975) - Blue Skies, Waht a Feeling Paper (34995) - Blue Skies, Zip a
Dee Doo Dah Paper (34990) - Blue Skies, Fleece (77225) - Fieldhouse, Delight Watermelon (43059) - Thickers
Danielle says: "My best tip for using thickers is to take the clear plastic backing that comes with the flair buttons, and then use that to position your thickers. Because it's clear, you can move the sheet around on your layout or card. You can also position and reposition the thickers and the adhesive stays sticky. You can leave them like this for days if you happen to have sick children at home that need your attention more than your layout at the moment (totally hypothetically speaking of course). Then when you are ready, you just peel and stick the thickers where you have decided on your page. These new delight thickers are the perfect size for cards, and any project really.
This card is for a very special little girl named Kate. You can read more about the Cards for Kate drive here."
That little umbrella is genius and going to such a great cause. I hope you'll check out the Cards for Kate drive and use cards from other Postmarked Wednesdays if you need inspiration!
