Dear Lizzy Week Challenge

Happy Friday!  Does anyone have some fun plans this weekend?  I'm looking forward to getting some scrapping done and preparing an album for Ali Edward's Week in the Life workshop next week!  Before we sign off for the weekend, let's take care of some important business.  Congratulations to Andrea, the winner of last week's Abode challenge!

This week's prize pack is full of gorgeous Dear Lizzy product including all the fabric papers, sets of stamps, Thickers, and the full line of patterned paper that you've seen here us use this week.

I love the fabric paper because it's adhesive backed and perfect for covering chipboard mini albums.  I trimmed down a couple pieces of fabric paper and easily adhered it to the front of this little book.  The Garden Gala paper is awesome for cutting into strips and I love how it looks layered.  I also peeled off the adhesive back to create the little fabric flower embellishment by folding the fabric accordian style and gluing together.  It's stiff enough to work well when folded.  So easy!

Piradee says: "I think I'm in love... with these page protectors and also discovered another fun tradition for me to follow (to capture my highlights of the month).  I really like how the photo slots are vertical and the slits for the photos are on the sides - this way, I'm able to also work off the cards (ie. like in the 2nd top one). And who doesn't love the Dear Lizzy collection - especially the fabric papers! I just love the texture they add to the pages and the adhesive is super strong too (check out the flower and ruffles I created on the 1st top and 2nd bottom cards)."

Nichole says: "The new fabric paper is one of my favorites from the new release. I love the designs & how it easy it is to cut & that it's self adhesive! I thought it would be fun to cut it into "pieces" to create the little birdie...& it was!  I made a template on some scrap cardstock, then traced onto the fabric paper & cut it out. Easy, easy & so much fun!"

Melanie says: The Dear Lizzy fabric paper is SO cool. The patterns are gorgeous and versatile, and I like the bit of dimension it gives. I have a ton of projects on my ‘to-do’ list with these. I envision it covering journals, using it as book binding cloth, and punching it out into all kinds of shapes to use as embellishments, which is what I did here with my 2 cards. I used an Accu-cut machine to cut mine out (the bracket border on the ‘Spring’ card, and the flower on the ‘Lovely’ card)  but these would work with any die-cutting machine such as a BigShot or a Cuttlebug, and if you have a lot of dies, then you need these! The fabric paper cuts like butter,and peels away easily for you to stick onto any project. The possibilities are endless - try it, you’ll love it!"

Mel's cards look adorable and I love the tip on trying out the fabric paper with a die cut machine.  Think of all the cool shapes you could make!

Crocheted Flowers

The adorable crocheted flowers are one of my favorite products that came out with the Dear Lizzy line. They're unlike anything AC has done before and oh-so-cute!  Design Team member Beth used them in two creative ways on her projects today...

Dear Lizzy Week

Hi everyone!  We've got a gorgeous week ahead here on the AC Studio Blog!

Developed with the talented Elizabeth Kartchner, Dear Lizzy is a fun and fanciful spring-themed line, inspired by the concept of an outdoor tea party. Danielle says: "I think these phrase thickers are show stopping and I love making one the center piece of my whole page! The angle that I shoot these photos at really made me think about the fact that our house became a home and haven after the baby was born. Everything changes I guess! But I think that's really the great thing about the abode line, everyone's definition of home and comfort will be different and unique. And that's worth celebrating on a page!"

Wendy Sue says: "I love the fun (punny) phrases on these stickers sheets – as soon as I saw them I knew I wanted to create a few cards to have on hand.  This is the first one I made…that little cheese grater is the cutest thing ever!  To make the card, I cut the grater off the sticker and placed the phrase in the corner.  Next, I used my craft knife to cut out the piece around the handle, and “hung” the grater above the phrase.  I had to add that cute little heart sticker too!"

Holly says: "I love to find new and unusual ways to put my scrapbooking products to use, and one of my favorite thing to make are banners and wall hangings.  For this "Home Sweet Home" wall hanging, I started by painting a blank wooden plaque with gold paint around the edges.  Then, using Mod Podge, I attached the patterned paper to the front of the plaque.  To create the house, I first cut a roof and square house from thin pieces of chipboard.  The house was covered in patterned paper, and the roof was made using punched circles of patterned paper, edged with some brown ink.  Finally, I attached the elements to the front of wall hanging using hot glue and "This to That" foam dots.  And, now you have a cute little piece of art to adorn your home!"

Abode is the perfect line to create fun home decor with, just like Holly's wall hanging.  I love how she created a house out of patterned paper... just too cute!
