In the spirit of Thanksgiving we decided to pick TWO winners from last week's recipe challenge! First, congrats to Nicole Pomeroy who did a fun twist like Jennifer Gallacher and created a "Recipe for Disaster" layout:
And second, congrats to Monique who made a beautiful layout including a special recipe:
Thanks to all who played along in the recipe week challenge!
To wrap up Thanksgiving Place Cards week, Paige Evans (that's me!) made a trio of turkey-shaped place cards that can be fun for the whole family to create together:
Supplies: 12x12 Cherry Cardstock (71026) - AC Cardstock, 12x12 Apricot Cardstock (71031) - AC Cardstock, 12x12 Chestnut Cardstock (71048) - AC Cardstock, 12x12 Ash Cardstock (71078) - AC Cardstock, 12x12 White Cardstock (71081) - AC Cardstock, Wise Tortoise Paper (35268) - Dear Lizzy Enchanted, Forest Gardens Paper (35226) - City Park, Mountain Park Paper (35231) - City Park. Greenbelt Gardens Paper (35241) - City Park, Golden Gate Park Paper (35244) - City Park, Hairy O. Clawsome Paper (35185) - Boo!, Comfort & Cheer Paper (35203) - Dear Lizzy Christmas, Cherryhill Ave. Paper (35063) - Abode, Crestview Court Paper (35074) - Abode, Compliments Paper (35026) - Letterbox, Bodacious Banana Paper (35110) - Heat Wave, A La Carte (71001) - Patterned Paper Pack, Martha (43376) - MiniMarks
I love "hands on" (pun intended!) projects. To make these place cards for yourself:
1. Trace each family member's hand onto a piece of scratch paper, cut out, then trace onto the back of your selected patterned papers. I chose a different piece of red, orange, yellow, green, and brown patterned paper for each person.
2. Cut out each hand from each patterned paper, layer them together, spread them out, then glue them in place.
3. Cut a strip of brown cardtock, wrap into a loop, then hot glue to the bottom of the hands.
4. Cut out turkey "bodies" from gray cardstock, add details like eyes, a beak, and gobbler from scraps of colored cardstock, then hot glue to the front.
5. Create name banners by applying rub on letters to white triangles, glue to a thin piece of brown cardstock, then adhere to the turkey. Done!
And now for your challenge:
1. The place card must be posted to an online gallery or blog with American Crafts in your supply list.
2. You must leave a comment on this blog post with a link to your layout online. You also must fill in your email address when posting your comment on this blog post so I can notify you if you've won.
3. Projects and links must be posted by midnight PST on Thursday, November 18th, 2010.
4. The winner will receive an entire current line of their choice.
Have a great weekend everybody and happy crafting!
