"This winter was really the first time my twin daughters could be out playing in the snow, and they weren't quite sure what to think. The series of photos I used on my layout really captures the essence of their little personalities and their reaction to the snow. The color combination of purple, turquoise, pink, and red gave a really fresh look to a layout about winter (and coordinated just perfectly with my girls' hats and coats!). I punched snowflakes from patterned paper and accented them with buttons and twine as well as used several dimensional stickers to create a banner."
"On this layout, I wanted to create a clean look using photos of my girls for Valentine's Day this year. I punched border strips from white cardstock to create a tone-on-tone look with white cardstock as the base. I used a variety of patterned paper in pink, brown, and white behind the punched holes in the cardstock. I used another punch to add accent strips above a couple photos to add flow to the layout and then embellished the top of the layout and the focal point photo with a few simple accents."
"I adore the combination of kraft, turquoise, and red and pulled together several products to create this simple card. I rounded the corners of the patterned paper at the top and bottom of the card to create a cohesive feel. I simply knotted the turquoise ribbon in a couple places and used glue dots to adhere the ribbon to the card."
"Again, more kraft, turquoise, and red! This time I combined three different turquoise patterns as my background, added a Love Bit tag, an Eternal Delight embellishment and brad. I machine stitched a little bit on this card as well."
"For this card, I used a couple Eternal Delight embellishments as flowers and folded the pink Mixtape in half to form a stem and leaves."
"I wanted to create a piece of shabby home decor for Valentine's Day and pulled this wooden heart mobile out of my stash of things to alter. (I picked the mobile up at a local craft store for about $3.) I covered the hearts with patterned paper and added white paint around the edges to shabby it up. I embellished the largest heart with the Tenderness Details and Eternal Delights. Finally, I added Thickers, ribbon and tulle, and I had a simple, yet shabby mobile!"
Here's a fun questionnaire to get to know Jill a bit more:
How did you get started scrapbooking?
I started scrapbooking shortly after I was married in 2003. I wanted some way to document all of our photos and memories from our wedding and honeymoon. I took a break from scrapbooking layouts for a while and focused on cards and paper crafting. After the birth of my twin daughters in 2009, I had plenty of material for layouts again! :)
What would you say your scrapbooking “style” is?
My style is very feminine but I also love to use clean, linear design elements. I add feminine touches by machine stitching, distressing, and using lots of pink!
What is your favorite technique?
I love incorporating distressing techniques - whether it's by painting, inking, or sanding.
When do you find time to scrap?
I do most of my scrapbooking when my girls go to bed at night but I'll occasionally sneak in some scrapbooking during nap times too!
On average, how long does it take you to complete a project?
I plan out my projects in advance so when I actually sit down to work, it usually takes me a couple hours to put a layout together. This is after I've edited and printed photos and somewhat have a design in mind. I like to work on layouts in "batches".
What is your favorite thing about American Crafts?
Um...THICKERS! I could use Thickers on about every project. The fonts... the textures... they just add so much visual interest.

I'm so impressed with everything you did here. Wonderful ideas, wonderfully executed. Great balance of clean, graphic layouts with just enough frills and embellishments. Love the color palette, too.
