The (so so talented!) Guest Designer of the Week is Lisa Dickinson! She created some absolutely fabulous layouts, cards, and a sweet gift card box to show off the new Peachy Keen line.
Supplies: 12x12 Cardstock White (71081) - AC Cardstock, Gee Whiz Paper (35383) - Peachy Keen, Mother Always Says Paper (35388) - Peachy Keen, Good Golly Gee Paper (35375) - Peachy Keen, Easy Peasy Paper (35382) - Peachy Keen, My Darling Paper (35390) - Peachy Keen, Heavens to Betsy Paper (35387) - Peachy Keen, Easy As Pie Paper (35393) - Peachy Keen, You're A Peach Paper (35381) - Peachy Keen, Super Swell (42193) - Remarks, Fellow Fog (53175) - Thickers, Twist (72008) - Delights, Shout (72009) - Delights, Lovely Lady (78047) - Details
"I had such a hard time deciding which of the cute Peachy Keen papers to use first, so I opted to use several of them on this patchwork page! To begin, I lightly traced a heart in pencil on my page, which would serve as the base for my photos. Then I cut lots of 1" squares to fill the space across the page, trimming those near the heart to outline that shape. I added machine stitching to define the edges of the heart and topped off my title block with the Delights & Details embellishments."
Supplies: 12 x12 Cardstock Robin's Egg (71550) - AC Cardstock, 12x12 Cardstock White (71081) - AC Cardstock, Made In The Shade Paper (35379) - Peachy Keen, Fancy Free Paper (35377) - Peachy Keen, Holy Moly Paper (35391) - Peachy Keen, Neato Paper (35392) - Peachy Keen, Mother Always Says Paper (35388) - Peachy Keen, Heavens to Betsy Paper (35387) - Peachy Keen, Good Golly Gee Paper (35375) - Peachy Keen, My Oh My Paper (35376) - Peachy Keen, Easy As Pie Paper (35393) - Peachy Keen, Jitter Paper (35373) - Peachy Keen, Twist (72008) - Delights, Peachy Keen Assortment Buttons (85541) - Elements, Fellow Sherbert (53173) - Thickers, Black .03 (62311) - Precision Pens
"Hearts were an obvious choice for a page about love, and since I was using black & white photos, I wanted them to add lots of color to the page. I cut several sized hearts from different Peachy Keen patterns and used a zig-zag stitch to secure them to the page. A few paper flower Delights were thrown into the mix as well."
Supplies: 12 x12 Cardstock Concrete (71550) - AC Cardstock, Gee Whiz Paper (35383) - Peachy Keen, Shout (72009) - Delights, Charming Chap (78046) - Details, Peachy Keen Tag (85543) - Bits, Peachy Keen Round Tags (85542) - Bits, Super Swell (42193) - Remarks, Gee Golly (42192) - Remarks, Audrey (42191) - Remarks, Peachy Keen Assortment Buttons (85541) - Elements, Good Golly Badges (70068) - Flair, Fellow Sherbert (53173) - Thickers, Black .03 (62311) - Precision Pens
"Using a grid as a starting point is one of my favorite techniques. It always provides a strong and solid foundation upon which you can build your page. Here I stitched a 9-square grid and filled the spaces with my photo, title, and various embellishments that relate to my page theme."
Supplies: 12x12 Cardstock White (71081) - AC Cardstock, Mother Always Says Paper (35388) - Peachy Keen, Easy As Pie Paper (35393) - Peachy Keen, You're A Peach Paper (35381) - Peachy Keen, My Darling Paper (35390) - Peachy Keen, Gee Whiz Paper (35383) - Peachy Keen, Oh So Dandy Paper (35372) - Peachy Keen, Made In The Shade Paper (35379) - Peachy Keen, No Sweat Paper (35378) - Peachy Keen, My Oh My Paper (35376) - Peachy Keen, Sweet On You Paper (35374) - Peachy Keen, Peachy Keen Round Tags (85542) - Bits, Shout (72009) - Delights, Peachy Keen Assortment Buttons (85541) - Elements, Sing Along (59212) - Clear Stamps, Gee Golly (42192) - Remarks
"When I find design that works for me (like the grid I mentioned above!) I like to use it a lot! It makes my creating go that much faster when I don't have reinvent the wheel each time I sit down at my craft table. To make these two cards, I used a 9-square grid just like my page design. I cut 1.5" squares from various patterned papers as my base (the coordinating Peachy Keen patterns made this super easy!) and then added a few simple embellishments to finish them off. This card design is ideal for using up scraps - put one together the next time you finish a page by using your leftovers!"
Supplies: Good Golly Gee Paper (35375) - Peachy Keen, Thing of Beauty Paper (35370) - Peachy Keen, Decorative Tags (85543) - Bits, Fellow Fog (53175) - Thickers, Black .03 (62311) - Precision Pens
"This simple metal gift card box is easily dressed up with some patterned paper and a homemade paper bow. The double-sided Peachy Keen papers are perfect for making bows, because even the interior side of the loops looks wonderful! Add a matching tag, and you have a beautifully-wrapped gift to give to someone special."

How did you get started scrapbooking?
I was introduced to scrapbooking when a friend took me to a Creative Memories party back in 1998. I was immediately hooked on preserving my photos & stories and I've been addicted ever since!
What would you say your scrapbooking “style” is?
I think my style is constantly evolving, but that's what I love about creating. Right now, I my pages are simple, casual, and a bit eclectic.
What is your favorite technique?
Though it used to scare me, I am starting to love stamping more and more as I experiment with it.
When do you find time to scrap?
I usually have a bit of time during the day while my kids are in school, and often I scrap after they have gone to bed.
On average, how long does it take you to complete a project?
While I rarely complete a page in one sitting (I like to let a design "rest" and reevaluate it throughout the day), a typical page would probably take me an hour to complete, start to finish.
What is your favorite thing about American Crafts?
I love that the American Crafts collections are always full of color, pattern, and FUN! The color schemes never fail to make me happy and inspire me to create. And, like many other scrapbookers, I have a bit of an addiction to the Thickers. The variety of fonts, colors and textures is just unbeatable!
