You know those thin 12" long strips of paper at the bottoms of American Crafts patterned papers that have the barcode on them and then the other side is a pattern and you just don't want to throw them away but don't really know what to do with them? Never fear! This week our talented Design Team has come up with some creative solutions to make the most of these patterned barcode strips! Wendy McKee, Shannon Zickel, and yours truly, have each created a layout to show you how to use this fun and versatile product.
Supplies: Barcode strips from Confetti patterned papers, Lucky Lemon Twist (35331) - Confetti, 12x12 White Cardstoc (71081) - AC Cardstock, Heart White (53092) - Thickers
Wendy says, "I used lots of different strips from the bottoms of the papers. I chose ones that match all the colours in the photograph, then I used them to mat the photo instead of plain cardstock. I added a banner looking finish to each of the strips to add more detail. I used a normal yellow piece of paper to cut up and make it look like a sun even though it was freezing that day! I tried to copy the writing on the ice cream sign for the placement of the title."
Supplies: 12x12 Kraft Cardstock (71464) - AC Cardstock, Big Pine Creek Paper (35369) - Campy Trails, Thing of Beauty Paper (35370) - Peachy Keen, Dainty Paper (35404) - Hello Sunshine, Forest Gardens Paper (35226) - City Park, Trail (64003) - Remarks, Gate (85509) - Remarks, Forest Chestnut (53159) - Thickers, Sunny Side (72010) - Delights, Sunshine (72012) - Delights, Sotheby's (42457) - Remarks, Chestnut (59512) - Pigment Ink, Leaf (59508) - Pigment Ink, Powder 59505) - Pigment Ink, Clay (59513) - Pigment Ink, Black Precision Pen .03 (62311) - Pens & Markers

It's a jaw-breaking layout. Those are definitely eco-friendly ways of using barcodes as decorations. I like how the third one is woven together neatly!
