American Crafts Studio Blog: Decorative Brads Week!

Like a cookie without sprinkles or a garden without flowers, a page just isn't a page without decoration! Decorative brads add that extra color, texture, or accent to your project. From jewel and diamond, fabric and corduroy, pearl and glitter, to metal and plastic rose brads, American Crafts has a type, size, and color of brad that will fit every occasion! To start out this week of decorative brads, design team member Pooi and in-house scrapbooker Lindsey Hansen have each created a card and layout:

Pooi shares, “I always love to see the rainbow, it’s a sign of hopes and dreams all over again. This rainbow came smiling through my last night in Kauai, Hawaii before returning back to Singapore. I was overjoyed and too excited. And I just want to scrap this with all my feelings and to remember that special moments are ‘somewhere out there…’ The rows of different types of brads on the left are the bullet points for my journaling. Lindsey says, "I had pictures of my nephew that I have been wanting to scrapbook and thought elements would be a fun touch to this layout. As I was looking for inspiration I thought it would be a great idea to cut out a shape using the Silhouette and what a better match to use a circle shape to fit the elements in! I didn't want the layout to be too distracting so I made a limited color palette. If you know me, I am in love with yellow and gray right now. I thought I would add a little teal to help it pop. The card was fun as well. I'm all about bright colors and trying to make things cheerful."
