Our Fast & Fabulous Week Guest Designer is the talented Rebecca Keppel!
Short bio: In the beginning of 2005 I was a corporate attorney in San Francisco, but then my daughter was born and I became a stay-at-home-mom for the next 6 years. I started scrapbooking around that time and found the creative outlet a santity saver to say the least! We moved to Arizona and my son was born in 2007. They are the main stars of my scrapbooking show. I love practicing new photography skills on them and then creating layouts with those pictures. I've been blogging for about 4 years now and love sharing projects, ideas, and photos on my blog. I also enjoy card making, creating mini albums, and gifts for friends and family. I generally think of my style as clean with a focus on the photos, but with a definite fun twist. Two of my favorite additions to layouts are machine sewing and typewritten journaling.
How did you get started scrapbooking? A friend told me once I moved out to the suburbs I would have to start scrapbooking. ;) She was right! Once I moved out of the city, had my daughter, and became a stay-at-home-mom, I discovered scrapbooking and started documenting her every move.
What is your favorite American Crafts product? I think it is safe to say that I have a Thickers addiction. I seriously have never met a pack of Thickers that I didn’t love and want to take home.
MEMORY BOARD by Rebecca Keppel
Altered items seem to take me the longest so to go with the fast & fabulous theme I started with a cute corkboard and quickly turned it into a fun memory or style board using lots of American Crafts embellishments. The layered or detailed embellishments make altering a breeze since they all already come with self adhesive! Just peel and stick!

ONE SECOND LATER by Rebecca Keppel
It only takes a few minutes to cut a detailed background with an electronic cutting device, but gives a definite wow factor to otherwise simple layouts.
Supplies: Fox White (53415) – Thickers, Soho Garden Layered Chipboard Stickers Midtown (42271) - Remarks, Soho Garden Mayfair Adhesive Layered Embellishments (85606) – Details, Daily Black (53388) – Thickers, Lunch Break Paper ( 35771) – Ready Set Go, High Line Park Paper (35831) - Soho Garden
Cards are the easiest for me to get done in a short period of time. Staying with a clean & simple style leaves me plenty of time for embellishing and adding homemade touches like sewing. I keep my sewing machine out on my desk so it is accessible and quickly pulled forward for a fast project.

BE TRUE TO YOURSELF by Rebecca Keppel
Designs with lots of white space and a few fun clusters have a big impact and don’t take long to create!
Supplies: West Broadway Paper (35839) – Soho Garden, Soho Garden Layered Chipboard Stickers (42271) Remarks, Fox Gold (53414) – Thickers, 5th & Frolic Stitched Ruffle Strips (85604) - Embellishments, 5th & Frolic Decorative Glitter Flowers (77292) - Flower Shoppe, 5th & Frolic Layered Embellishments (85605) - Details
It is possible to add techniques like stamping and sewing and still get a layout completed in a half an hour! I keep everything I need close by and I make my techniques simple (stamping three stamps placed on one acrylic block in a row, machine stitching a straight border or edge). To add detail I used a gel pen on my stamped images and a different color ink to stamp the mini heart.
