Sophie Crespy is going to share with us how to make this birthday cake layout from start to finish!
BIRTHDAY CAKE LAYOUT by Sophie Crespy
Supplies: My Girl, Beautiful Bella paper (35908) - My Girl, Adorable Abby Paper (35911) - My Girl, Tender Tessa Paper (35912) - My Girl, Silly Sarah Paper (35915) - Delights, Hula Hoop (85619) - Remarks, Sweetie Stickers (42363) -Pow, Denim (71629) - Pow, Powder (71631)- Ribbon, Value pack Grosgrain (89377)
I chose 3 sheets of patterned paper from the My Girl collection as the birthday decor is going to be displayed on my girl’s birthday at the end of the month. I also chose two Pow! glitter sheets in matching colors.
Then I cut 3 rectangles out of the patterned paper - they will be the three sections of my layered cake: Bottom cake: 12 x 6.5" | Middle cake: 10 x 7” | Top cake: 8 x 5". Then glue them together.
Now on to the topping! Out of the Pow paper cut three strips of paper each about 2” wide.
On the back of the strips draw a dripping icing then cut them out with sharp scissors.
I glued the icing pieces on the top of my cakes using 3D adhesive.
Now it is time to decorate your cake! I chose two of my favorite photos of my girl and some of my favorite My Girl and Mayberry embellishments:
Then I cut a large “7” with my Cameo
Next I made three candles out of strips of patterned paper and some yellow ribbon.
I kept it simple to keep the focus on my photos but you can add ribbons, brads, and anything you like to make yours look yummy! Hope you liked this tutorial! Have yourself a fabulous day!
This is such a fun idea, Sophie! So cute!

This is so cute I hope you don't mind if I steal this for my grandsons birthday in a couple weeks. Of course I will use boy themed paper and embellishments.
