Plus One Guest Designer: Jen Chesnick!

Short bio: Hi AC fans! My name is Jen Chesnick, I go by Chez too - a long time family nickname that I married into and it just kind of took a life of its own. Currently I live in the great state of Maryland with my husband Bill and my daughter Parker. I sell cheese and crackers by day for Mondelez International and by night I craft, scrapbook, obsess over Pinterest & Facebook. Not only am I a social media addict I watch almost all reality TV, it’s quite ridiculous. Remember The Real World? That’s where it ALL started. When I am not cooped up in the house I like to travel, and don’t be shocked, but I love to camp. As long as I have wi-fi and a power strip all is well in the world.

How did you get started scrapbooking? I started scrapbooking in 2006 after seeing one of my Mothers scrapbooks. I've always been a pretty crafty gal. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of making crafts in Girl Scouts and patching together random fabric pieces making clothes. Paper crafting has turned into a full on obsession.

What is your favorite American Crafts product? Patterned paper! I love that there are always lots of papers to chose from and the B sides are always just as good as the front.

I am currently obsessed with layering my background paper in shapes. For this layout I used a Polaroid shape and cut it in several layers with my Silhouette. I used lots of foam under each layer to give it the depth I wanted.

I am completely obsessed with Kat's Thickers. The sentiments give us script challenged folks something to work with. I used nearly the whole set. They mixed and matched well to create several different titles.

I love all the camera icons in Plus One, so I used an older Amy Tangerine cut file in the Silhouette shop to create my mini. I lined the back with cardstock to make the pages thicker.

The Plus One collection of papers has several sheets devoted to 3x4 and 4x6 cards for project life. I felt like I got a mini kit to work with! This made easy work of this two page spread. I simply added little bits here and there and I was done.
