Supplies: Fine and Dandy - Patterned Paper Elated (370079), Foiled Double Sided Fine and Dandy (370072), Stripey Straws (370064)
1. Select 4 or so coordinating patterns of paper. Use 1 or 2 sizes of circle punches to punch out a bunch of circle from each pattern. Note: One of my patterns had a “b side” that did not go with the rest of my colors. To cover that up, I just glued together two of the circles in that pattern, covering up the side I didn’t want.
2. Place your circles next to your sewing machine so you can grab them quickly as you sew the garland together. I placed two strips of washi tape on my machine to serve as a guide to keep my stitching centered on the circles.
3. Start sewing. Feed the first circle under the foot, and reverse stitch a bit to secure it. When you come to the end of the first circle, keep stitching for about an inch before feeding through the next circle. This will create more “give” to your garland and let the circle spin and rotate a bit while they are hanging. Continue on until you reach the desired length of the garland, do a reverse stitch again at the end of the last circle.
5. Hang and enjoy!
These garlands are great for party decor, kids’ room décor, or seasonal decorating around your home!
The Washi strip guide is pure genius! Super cute :-)
