Let's have some fun with circles! I love the movement that creating with circles lends to a page design. Start by pulling out a variety of bright and colorful patterned papers from the On a Whim and Lovely Day collections. I pulled shades of pink, coral and yellow to compliment my photos and gives the page a whimsical feel.
I used circle punches in 2”, 1-1/4”, 1” and 1/2” sizes to create the colorful background. The photos were also trimmed out with a 2” circle punch so that they could blend with the overall design. Adding word strip stickers from the Little by Little line breaks up all of those circular shapes. Contrast is a good thing!
Add a swish of gold detail by using a paintbrush and a flick of Vicki Boutin glaze to underline the words. Next, sprinkle gold flakes and coarse glitter over the glaze to adhere. This creates a beautiful sparkly effect that highlights the words and frame.
To add a punch of whimsy I used the inflatable flamingo from the On a Whim collection to compliment the Hawaiian theme of the story. It also blends perfectly with the pink colors found at the bottom of the design. The pineapple die cut and chipboard “Love This” circle also match the colors and break up all of those circles!
Creating layouts with a strong graphic background of circles is a fun way to add something different to your projects!
