Hello everyone! It’s Zinia here and I’m back with my very first layout using the brand new “Stay Colorful” collection by Dear Lizzy.
From the first moment I got this collection, I fell in love with it. The colorful and whimsical elements were just beautiful and I was instantly inspired to start creating with it. I always try to draw inspiration from the collection itself so I try to use the pattern papers in fun and creative ways. After flipping through them a couple of times I decided to fussy cut some floral borders from the beautiful Funkadelic paper and start building my design from there.
I picked another pattern paper to cover the top and the bottom of my layout. I went for a colorful yet subtle pattern cause I didn’t want it to be distracting from the beautiful flower images. I adhered the floral borders with some Sticky Thumb foam squares to a little bit of dimension to the page. I also decided to cut another floral border from a pattern paper to add at the bottom part of my page.
The embellishing part was really fun as always. I tried to use as many different types of embellishments as possible to make things look interesting. A little dimension with some fussy-cut butterflies, a little glitter with the beautiful die-cut title and some tiny sprinkles with the puffy stickers.
I placed my photo on the white space in the middle of my page and backed it with some beautiful floral images to help it blend in with the rest of the design.
The very last step was to add some sprinkles of color using a Heidi Swapp Color Shine spray in Hot Pink.
