Design Stunning Summertime Layouts with Meghann

Hello! It’s Meghann Andrew and I am excited to be back on the AC blog with you today! I’m always a fan of the Dear Lizzy collections, and It’s All Good is no exception for me! The soft, warm color palette and fresh, seasonal icons remind me of a summer afternoon, and that’s just what I recorded on this new 12” x 12” layout.

I snapped this photo of my daughter last summer during our yearly trip to England, and I loved it so much that I held on to it, waiting for just the right collection. It’s All Good feels like an English summer day to me, with plenty of beautiful florals, fresh colors and bunting—a staple in English celebrations. I combined all of these elements to create a home for this special photo.

I started by layering my photo with three different patterns—Peachy Keen, Seek Magic and Remember This—slightly askew, to give it a playful feel. I loved all of the green grass in the photo, and wanted to use green on my layout, too! So the Embrace Now green grid was a natural choice to create my background.

Before I adhered all of those lovely layers to the background with dimensional adhesive, I created a pocket underneath them to add a hidden journaling tag, cut from the Main Squeeze patterned paper. To let the viewer know where my journaling was hidden, I added the “stay close to people who feel like sunshine” tag, which I added the word “pull” to. This top corner was also the perfect place to add a bit more color, and the card stock sticker bunting did that perfectly.

The large magnolias in the Live Simply paper and specialty vellum created the perfect opportunity for some fussy cutting! Just adding a few of these flowers made the perfect diagonal line of embellishment through my photo. This diagonal line also included my title, which I created with the It’s All Good chipboard stickers and gold puffy alphabet stickers. I also love the small phrase stickers found on the card stock stickers set—the “grow slow” sticker was just perfect for this page and how I feel about my daughter getting older.

A few more final touches finished off this layout: a splattering of the beautiful rose gold colored Vicki Boutin Mixed Media CreativeFX glaze, which I mixed with water, along my line of embellishments, and a few more card stock and chipboard hearts, which I can never get enough of!
